Noticing Miami University’s lack of awareness about the commercial banking industry, the Miami University Commercial Banking Club was founded in 2017 by senior leadership from PNC and Fifth Third. Their goal was to guide students toward a potential career in commercial banking.
Since 2017, MUCBC has consistently placed students in commercial and corporate banking roles at some of the largest banks. Our weekly meetings typically involve senior financial professionals offering advice and direction to members seeking internships and full-time positions.
Club Activities
Our most common form of meeting is having a banker come to speak to our club about their position. These meetings are typically every Thursday at 6pm.
Weekly Speaker Meetings
Educational meetings are held 3+ times a semester. These are meant to help give our members a better understanding of commercial finance beyond the classroom.

Community Building
Social events are a chance to relax and get to know everyone in the club. These consist of playing golf, chess, going to restaurants, and supporting members in events across campus.
Trips & Outings
Special Trips are one of the best ways to gain real exposure. We visit the offices of Fifth Third and PNC in Cincinnati every fall, and visit either New York or Chicago in the Spring.
Panels & Workshops
Other Opportunities
Upperclassmen always love to help out. We hold panels so you can ask questions and learn about navigating interviews and internships, as well as resume workshops to make sure your resume stands out from the crowd.
We always have rotating one-off opportunities that we can connect you with, such as coffee chats with recruiters, financial modeling courses, stock pitch competitions, and other various oppurtunites.
